Ron Larsen
Ron Larsen received his B.S. in Engineering Sciences from Purdue, his M.S. in Applied Physics from The Catholic University of America, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. His early career was spent at NASA working in several capacities and receiving several awards in recognition of his work. Among his achievements was the launching of NASA’s computer science research program in the early 1980s. He then worked at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he assumed several administrative and leadership roles, before joining the University of Pittsburgh as Dean of the School of Information Science in 2002.
